What is RPA?

RPA, also known as robotic process automation, is a new technology that is going to start revolutionizing jobs as we know them. RPA utilizes bot programs to carry out repetitive tasks from a simple interface. It can help speed up a lot of processes around the workplace as the most tedious tasks can now be carried out by RPA software. RPA fits into a special spot where old programs would leave gaps in their work, but RPA imitates how humans would work alongside the software

How does RPA work?

RPA robots work through a user interface where they mimic all of the actions a human would perform during a specific task. They can log in and out of programs, copy and paste data, open and respond to emails. RPA robots do all of this with efficiency and without any human interference needed. This allows for jobs that require automated tasks to be carried out much faster. What makes RPA different from macros is that macros are pre-determined commands while RPA will learn over time just like how an AI would and it reacts to changes.

What is RPA used for?

There are many different benefits to RPA that you would not get from other automated systems. One of the biggest benefits is that almost anyone can configure one of these systems. They are very low effort and can carry out routine tasks with perfect accuracy. It is a huge assisting factor to human work while the RPA software can carry out the annoying tasks and the humans can carry out the more complex tasks.
